The room
Casino Baden is the tournament house of Casinos Austria. Cash games run most evenings, Texas Hold’em from €1/3 during the week and €2/5 on Saturdays, with Pot-Limit Omaha from €2/2 available daily. A weekly tournament is scheduled every day except Wednesday, at buy-in levels aimed squarely at the local player base. Poker starts at 19:00 from Monday to Thursday and an hour earlier on Friday and Saturday.
The CAPT
The Central European Poker Tour is run by Casinos Austria, and Baden rather than Vienna is where its main events are played. The CAPT Million in November is the largest of them, with satellites and starting days spread over the preceding weeks, and the Pokermania XXL series fills the October slot. Dates and structures are published by Casinos Austria; we link to their schedule instead of copying it.
Practical details
The casino sits in the Kurpark in the middle of Baden, a spa town half an hour south of Vienna. The Badner Bahn tram leaves from the Opera in the city centre and the Südbahn trains are quicker; either way it is a straightforward evening trip from Vienna, where Casino Wien is the only other legal poker room in the country. The minimum age is 18, registration with a photo ID is required, and games are in euros.
