There is no national casino licence in Canada. Each province runs or licenses gaming itself: in Ontario that is the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, which regulates the private operators running provincially owned properties, and in Quebec it is Loto-Québec. A third route exists on First Nations land, where the Kahnawake Gaming Commission licenses gaming on Mohawk territory south of Montreal – that is what Playground operates under, not a Quebec licence.
Minimum age is 19 in Ontario and 18 in Quebec and at Playground. A government photo ID is required to enter and to buy in, and rooms will ask for it again at the cage for larger cash-outs. Games are played in Canadian dollars, and rake is capped in both rooms listed here.
