Italy has no general casino licence. Four municipal casinos operate under special legislation that predates the modern gambling framework: Sanremo, Venice, Saint-Vincent and Campione d’Italia. Everything else, including online poker, is licensed by the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (ADM). Milan, Rome and Naples have no casino at all, so a live game means travelling.
The minimum age is 18 and a valid original ID document is required at the entrance: an identity card, driving licence or passport. Most of the municipal casinos charge a small admission fee for the table-games rooms, sometimes returned as a non-convertible chip, and apply a dress code that rules out beachwear and flip-flops. Games are in euros.
