The room

Royal Yak is Codere’s flagship casino in Mexico City, inside the Las Américas complex that also holds the Hipódromo de las Américas racecourse and the Banamex convention centre. Codere opened a dedicated poker room there under its Codere Poker Series brand, occupying a hall of roughly 1,800 square metres – large enough to host a full festival without borrowing floor from the rest of the casino.

Tournaments

The room is the home of the Codere Poker Series in Mexico and has hosted the Latin American Poker Tour’s Mexican stop. A major festival takes over the hall for around eight days at a time and runs some thirty events, with satellites in Codere’s other Mexican venues feeding into it. Schedules are published by Codere on its own poker pages; we do not copy dates.

Practical details

The complex is in Lomas de Sotelo in the Miguel Hidalgo borough, in the north-west of the city near Naucalpan, and is easiest reached by car or taxi. Minimum age is 18 and a photo ID is required at registration; visitors use a passport. Buy-ins are in Mexican pesos.

Codere also operates a licensed online business in Mexico, but it is not covered on this site, so no online link is offered here.
