Metro Card Club is a card club, not a casino room. It holds its own PAGCOR licence, alongside a city permit from Pasig, and operates in a commercial complex rather than inside a resort. There are no slot machines and no table games other than poker: the entire licence is for card play, which is why the club can run cheaper tournaments and lower rake than the Entertainment City rooms.
The room
The club occupies building C of the Metrowalk complex in Ortigas Center and runs around the clock. Its capacity is roughly 35 tables, with about half of them in daily use for tournaments and the rest opened for larger events, plus cash games running alongside. It is the largest dedicated poker venue in the country by table count and by the number of tournaments it puts on. There is a bar, a VIP section and a billiards table in the same space.
Practical details
Ortigas Center is between Makati and Quezon City, and Metrowalk is on Meralco Avenue, a short ride from Ortigas MRT station – though at rush hour a car will be slower than the train. Minimum age is 21, with a passport required for foreign players and a membership registration on the first visit. Buy-ins are in Philippine pesos.
