The room

Solaire was the first of the Entertainment City resorts to open and its poker room, listed among the property’s gaming clubs as a Poker King Club room, is where the biggest live cash games in the Philippines are found. Tables run around the clock. The regular spread starts at ₱50/100 no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha and climbs through the mid stakes, and during festivals the room reaches ₱1,000/2,000 and beyond as visiting professionals arrive for events elsewhere in the city.

This is a cash room first. It is not the venue that hosts the tours – that is Okada and the card clubs – but it is where the players from those tours tend to end up between events.

Practical details

Solaire is at 1 Solaire Boulevard on the Entertainment City strip in Parañaque, roughly ten to fifteen minutes from Ninoy Aquino International Airport and a longer, traffic-dependent drive from Makati or Bonifacio Global City. The resort has hotels, restaurants and a theatre on site, so a session does not require leaving the building.

Minimum age is 21. Foreign visitors present a passport at the door; Philippine government officials and people on PAGCOR’s exclusion list are barred by law from entering. Chips are in Philippine pesos and the cage will exchange major currencies.
