The Bicycle, now trading as Parkwest Bicycle Casino, is the second of the two big Los Angeles card rooms, with around 185 tables in Bell Gardens, a few miles south-east of downtown. Cash games run 24 hours a day across limit and no-limit hold’em and Omaha variants, and the property includes a hotel, several restaurants and an events space that has been used for televised poker.
Card room, not casino
Like Commerce, the Bike is licensed as a card room rather than a casino. That means no slot machines and no house-banked games: the room takes a rake or collection from poker, and the games with a bank rotate the player-dealer position, typically filled by a registered third-party proposition player service. Card rooms are supervised by the Bureau of Gambling Control within the state Department of Justice, with licensing decisions made by the California Gambling Control Commission.
Tournaments
Legends of Poker is the room’s flagship festival and returns each year alongside a regular tournament programme. Buy-ins and start times are on the venue’s own tournament page.
