How licensing works
Sweden replaced its state monopoly with a licensing system in 2019. Every licensed site checks the Spelpaus self-exclusion register, and a “one bonus only” rule limits welcome offers to a single promotion per operator.
The market
PokerStars.se and Unibet.se were the established rooms; GGPoker.se joined in 2026 with its global pool. Svenska Spel Poker, the former monopoly room, remains Swedish-only. Land-based casinos closed on 1 January 2026, so there is no live pillar for Sweden.
